Carlo Rambaldi

"You could be happy here, I could take care of you. I wouldn't let anybody hurt you. We could grow up together, E.T."

[ E.T. - one of my favorite movies ever....although I love this movie dubbed in Spanish. It is the best thing ever. Watch it in Spanish if you can.  ]

did you know ?

That the movie was banned to children under 11 in Sweden because it showed children talking back and disobeying their parents?

That the E.T. creature used in the film cost $1.5 millions dollars to create. But whenever you see ET walk, it is actually someone wearing the suit because a walking ET would have cost an additional million? ----> I remember my dad telling me that ET was a small person. lol...I never believed him..

Most of the full-body puppetry was performed by a 2' 10 tall stuntman, but the scenes in the kitchen were done using a 10-year old boy who was born without legs but was an expert on walking on his hands.

That Reese's Pieces sales soared 85% after release of ET?
The filmmakers had requested that M&M's be used to lure E.T., instead of Reese's Pieces. The Mars company had denied their request and so Reese's Pieces were used instead. As a direct result, Reese's Pieces sales skyrocketed. Because of this, more and more companies began requesting that their products be used in movies. Thus, product placement was born.

When E.T. and Elliott are sick, the doctors working on them are not actors but real doctors. Spielberg wanted real doctors so that the lingo would sound right and the scenes would be believable.

The sound of E.T. walking was made by someone walking through jelly.

ET's face was modeled after poet Carl Sandburg, Albert Einstein and a pug dog.

ET's plants included some made from inflated condoms with polyester blooms.

Excelente, Gracias!! El film sigue siendo una pieza exquisita de diluir, y aqui el trabajo de Rambaldi es supremo hasta el dia de hoy.
